My name is Branden Lawson, PGA Associate, born and raised in Sacramento, California. I am not your typical golf professional. I didn’t grow up in a family that plays golf, nor did I grow up playing. In fact, it wasn’t until my 22nd birthday that I acquired my first set of golf clubs. I quickly fell in love with the game and what it stands for. It did not take long for me to realize that I wanted to surround myself around golf. I enrolled into the Golf Academy of America and graduated in 2012, where I focused my attention in golf operations and teaching the game of golf. Over the last 10+ years I have worked at various types of golf clubs in California, Utah, and now Texas where I have spent the last three years with Arlington Golf. Over the past 10+ years I have had the pleasure to work with a variety of golfers, from accomplished players to introducing the game to those that have never swung a golf club. I continue to educate myself by using the resources the PGA of America provides, shadowing top instructors in the state of Texas, as well as attending educational seminars.

Teaching Philosophy:
My philosophy is simple to grasp, maintaining simplicity. Understanding that no two people are alike and focusing on pre-swing and in-swing fundamentals are essential for not only mine but for you as the student’s success. My number one goal as an instructor is for you, the student, to possess the ability self-teach. This is accomplished by identifying how you learn best, thorough communication, accompanied with effective drills that are easily repeatable. All instruction is designed to each individual goals, limitations, and experience. -

Chad Williams, PGA
Head Golf ProfessionalTierra Verde Golf Club
Chad Williams, PGA Head Golf Professional at Tierra Verde Golf Club since 2012. As a member of the PGA of America since 2001, Chad has served in the capacity of Head Golf Professional for over twenty-three years. His accomplishments on the course include Champion of the 2007 Northern Texas PGA Professional Championship & NTPGA Assistant’s Match Play, Team member of (4) NTPGA Joe Black Cups and participant in (13) Texas State Open. Chad enjoys helping his students reach their goals, by providing sound fundamentals of the golf swing as a basis to build the individuals confidence in their game. It is important the instructor and student have a mutual understanding of how to improve and recognize the time it takes for change to occur. Repetition of drills is necessary for consistency to take form. Everyone should have the knowledge to own their swing when it really counts, and I enjoy assisting in that effort.

150 Yards and InIt hard to score with your Driver, yet if you watch folks practice on the Driving Range it is the club of choice unless you are on the tour. Learning to hit and dial in your short irons is how to drop your score by any significant amount, learn to hit your 150-yard club, and learn to hit it well. By "hitting your 150-yard club very well" and know that you can hit any green that is 150 yards away. Every time, any condition, with no pressure. Once you master that shot, everything else is a simple adjustment. Your swing will be on, and you can simply add or take away a little club to adjust for varying distances.
