Tierra Verde Golf Club:
The putting greens at Tierra Verde Golf Club are currently impacted by Poa Annua. As a result, the surfaces are not as smooth and true as we would like them to be. The young age of the new grass dictated that we could not overseed or put out pre-emergent in the fall which greatly contribute to Poa control. We have used a very conservative post emergent spray program that will become more obvious as weather gets warmer. The Champion Bermuda is at its most dormant state right now and the weather has been ideal for Poa to flourish, as we get warmer and the Bermuda starts to green up the Poa will fade with the treatment protocols in place. Staff is monitoring the situation and is doing everything reasonably possible to reduce the effects of Poa on the course, without sacrificing long term health of the greens.
Texas Rangers Golf Club:
We have implemented a plan to designate five holes as “Cart Path Only” at Texas Rangers Golf Club. Players will be notified prior to play which holes will be impacted that day. Administration of this is to minimize wear and tear in high-traffic zones. We thank you in advance for your understanding and adherence to this policy.
